Traditional Meetings are on the First and Third Thursdays at 12:00 Noon.
Committee Meetings are on the Second Thursday.
Club Socials are on the Last Thursday of Month @ 5:01 PM (locations do rotate)
Joint District Podcast
Our District 5960 and our neighbors in 5950 teamed up to for the Searching for Service podcast. It is a weekly show designed to help current and future Rotarians find purpose through stories of service. The people featured are both Rotarians and non Rotarians, but they are all dedicated to Service Above Self. You can find it on any app where you already listen to your favorite podcasts or via the link below on your desktop.
Steele/Waseca Drug Court Drug Court is a voluntary program created by the District Court that allows eligible defendants to reduce their prison or jail sentence in exchange for completing substance abuse treatment and other conditions. The duration of Drug Court is a minimum of eighteen months.
Drug Court is a proven model for addressing substance abuse in a judicial environment with clear and specific expectations and goals. The Drug Court uses a team approach to deliver evidence-based practices including rigorous treatment, intensive supervision, random and frequent drug and alcohol testing, frequent court appearances, licensed mental-health service providers, and educational programming to participants.
Rotarians, I will not be at our meeting this week. I'll be attending the Minnesota Chamber Executives Conference at Treasure Island Casino in Welch. I always have mixed feelings about these conferences, I love learning new things and I get geeked over breakout sessions; but I just do not like the attempts at forced socialization. I'd rather form a meaningful bond with a hot slot machine. But I digress, luckily Jon is able to dust off his gavel hand and settle back into running a meeting again. We are fortunate that the speaker from our last meeting that was canceled due to weather was able to reschedule to this week. The program on Drug Court is always such a meaningful program to listen to. I encourage everyone to make an effort to attend, especially if you have not heard the program before.
Tell everyone you are a Rotarian! Again our District is partnering with some other districts in the Midwest to help spread the word of Rotary. If you would like a lawn sign for your home or business, please let me know. They are only $5 each and you can be invoiced for them. We need to have our Club order in no later than March 1st.
