It's only December and we already have a student that is interested in going to RYLA! For those of you that are newer to Rotary, RYLA is the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. It is a five day camp full of fun, intensive leadership experiences where students will develop leadership, teambuilding, and problem-solving skills. This unique experience promotes individual growth and leadership capabilities of high school juniors and sophomores through physical, mental, emotional and intellectual challenges. Students will be interacting with members of Rotary's team of volunteer counselors as they work through these challenges together. The camp is held at the YMCA camp in Hudson Wisconsin and our District 5960 partners with 5950 for the camp. I don't think we have sent a student since 2018, so it would be great to send another representative from the Waseca Club. It costs our Club $450 to send a student to RYLA. Camp takes place April 21st to the 25th, we will need a Rotarian to provide transportation to and from camp for our camper. As it gets closer, we will be looking for a volunteer. It is exciting that our Club is able to engage this opportunity again.

The Lions Club and The Exchange Club will join us for this annual program that will put everyone in the spirit of the season.
Do you know why Kristie is so happy? She came to the Rotary Holiday Party and won the big bucks playing Left Right Center. She also filled up on good wine and fantastic food. Most importantly, she got to spend time with Rotarians outside of a meeting. Get you and a your guest signed up to attend today!

In the last year and a half we have put out a call for Rotarians to bring in raffle prizes and that call has been met by just a few Rotarians. The same Rotarians have been providing the prizes over and over, so we are going back to assigning Rotarians to providing the prizes. You will be contacted and assigned a week to bring in the prize. This is not only a fun part of our meeting, it is also a fundraiser for our Club. So we do need all Rotarians to participate. If you cannot attend the meeting you are assigned, just drop the prize off with a fellow Rotarian who is attending.
