November is Rotary Foundation Month, a time to celebrate one of the most powerful tools we have for doing good in the world. Through the Rotary Foundation, clubs like ours are able to turn ideas into action, from clean water projects and disease prevention, to education, peacebuilding, and supporting communities close to home. Every donation, no matter the size, helps transform lives.
This week, we’re honored to welcome District Governor Glenn Bowers to our meeting. Governor Glenn’s visit is always a special opportunity to connect our local efforts with the broader vision of Rotary International. Let’s give him a warm Waseca welcome and show the spirit of service that defines our club.
As we continue this Rotary year, please take a moment to choose a committee if you haven’t already. Our District Governor for 5960 is visiting us this week. DG Bowers will talk about what the District's and Rotary International's expectations are for the Rotary year. Glenn is a Rotarian that is truly a man of action, he as lead several Clubs in various parts of the country, lead service initiatives, and works tirelessly to make Clubs successful. Reminder, it is customary to stand and applaud when the District Governor is introduced.
Mark your calendars! Each Rotarian is responsible for selling four tickets. If you attend and bring a date, you are already half way there! Be sure to let everyone know you are attending via our Facebook event, and share it out to your friends. Our goal is to have 100 pair of people in attendance.
The Rotary International Convention is coming a year early to Minneapolis. As Minnesota Rotarians, we have an opportunity to help and host. DG Bower will get into how we can do either, during his visit.
