After being a little sleepy on fundraisers (that don't just raise money from Rotarians) for about seven years, I'm going to call this event a win. It was a win because we actually made a few bucks, Rotarians got back into serving as a group, and the corn was really tasty. I had a great conversation with an attendee that came so she could tell someone from our Club how transformative our Exchange Student program was for her daughter in the 80's. She said, that opportunity has made a positive difference in her daughter's life and they still speak of her experience fondly. I tell you this short story to reaffirm the difference that Waseca Rotary makes in our Community. All the little things that we do, like serving a few people some ears of corn, add up to big things that impact others and shape futures.
Thank you to all the Rotarians that helped out at the Corn Feed. I never knew how much fun shucking corn could be!
Before the 5:01 at Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm on Thursday, come support fellow Rotarian, Amy Potter, at the Waseca Area Foundation Business After Hours.
