If you have been the Rotary President in the past, you know that there is a President-Elect mandatory training you need to attend. This year it was a three night online training and Amy just happened to be gone, so I got to attend😊 I listened to many presenters and all I thought was, “Why did I say yes to Ann? You have no idea what you are doing!” It wasn’t until the second night when I listened to R. Gordon McInally, Rotary International President from Scotland, that I became inspired! He is a very energetic speaker, but it was his message that touched me. You can listen to his message at the RI convention here.
Our Rotary International President is asking all Rotarians to get behind his mission for the year to “Create Hope in the World”. He went on to say that research shows that performing acts of kindness is an effective step any of us can take to protect our mental well-being. And by building peace within ourselves, we become more capable of bringing peace to the world.
This my friends, is something we can do in the Waseca Rotary Club to help! Amy and I will be launching our mission for the year at August 17th meeting, I hope you can join us. Let us work together joyously and “Create Hope in the World”

For those that are new to Rotary, every year our Club participates in the Chamber's Walk to the Park event. It is always held on the same day as a regular Rotary meeting (it doesn't hurt having the entire Chamber staff in Rotary). All you have to do is show up and let the check in table know you are there for Rotary. There are meals reserved for Rotarians. If there is inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors at the Starfire Event Center.
