As we step into a new year, it’s worth pausing to reflect on just how much our Club has accomplished in a relatively short period of time, and to look ahead with purpose and unity.
Over the past six months, we have done important work to strengthen the foundation of our Club. We rewrote our bylaws and constitution to align with Rotary International, ensuring clarity, consistency, and sustainability for years to come. We established five active committees, creating structure and opportunities for members to engage in meaningful ways. We committed ourselves to monthly service projects, putting service at the center of who we are. We also solidified funding for the Wellness Walk, reinforcing our ability to support initiatives that improve the well-being of our community.
These accomplishments are not small. They reflect a Club that is organized, intentional, and moving in the right direction. As we continue forward, the invitation is simple but powerful: let’s move together.
As we look back and ahead, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the passing of longtime Rotarian Dr. Ed Frederick. His dedication, leadership, and steady presence left an indelible mark on this Club and our community. Ed’s funeral will be held this Thursday at noon at Sacred Heart Church, and we strongly encourage all Rotarians to attend. The Board of Directors voted to count Ed’s funeral as meeting attendance, which we feel is a fitting and respectful tribute to a Rotarian who embodied Service Above Self.
Please also note that we will be holding a bonus meeting on the 29th of this month. This is in consideration of not meeting on New Year’s Day and our collective attendance at Ed’s funeral on the 15th. Please be sure to mark the 29th on your calendar.
Thank you for your commitment, your service, and your belief in the direction of this Club. The past has given us strong footing, and the future is full of promise, especially when we move forward together.
