With the season of Thanksgiving upon us, I want to personally THANK YOU for your support, engagement and service this year in Rotary! It has been a pleasure to get to know you, serve this club and learn more about the Rotary organization during my time thus far as Co-President. What we do locally in addition to what Rotary does nationally and globally, we are constantly reminded of our impact - big or small! YOU are making a difference!
Our Waseca Club is going to GIVE this Holiday Season! Cindy Kolander, from Waseca Area
Neighborhood Service Center recently shared the higher than normal level of food insecurity in our community. So please consider GIVING this Thursday at our Rotary meeting to the Holiday Food Drive that iWealth is sponsoring, and JP Ekyn are Brad Connors both Rotarians - what a great effort for us to support - a mission that will go directly to Holiday Food Baskets for our locals in need! We will be collecting cash and/or your permission to invoice you.
PEACE Principle: You may not be responsible for world peace, but you are responsible
for your piece/peace (i.e. your piece of world peace and your own inner peace). The challenge for us is to burn that principle into the hearts and minds of every person on the planet – or at least as many as possible in all sectors of society and at all levels of leadership. PEACE, LOVE & THANKS to all of you this Holiday Season!
This unique program is designed to assist parents from the time that they have found out that their child has died, through delivery, in the hours following delivery, and through the funeral. Advocates assist parents with a variety of services, including explaining delivery options, acting as a doula (labor coach), assisting with creating precious keepsakes and memories. This includes bathing and dressing the baby, to taking a variety of pictures, taking hand and foot prints, castings and much more. On an average an IRIS Advocate will spend 8 - 12 hours working with a family in the hospital setting and/or 4 - 6 hours working with a child in the funeral home setting. (Currently available only in Dodge, Goodhue, LeSueur, Steele, Rice and Waseca counties in southern Minnesota).
Camp RYLA is looking for volunteers in various capacities. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact within the District while meeting virtually. Take a look at the volunteer needs here.
